Kyle Clifford – Sentenced to Whole Life Order

Triple murderer and rapist Kyle Clifford was sentenced to a whole-life order today, for the brutal killings of Louise, Hannah and Carol Hunt in July last year.

Clifford pled guilty to the murders but refused to admit raping his ex-girlfriend Louise during the attack – forcing the grieving family and friends of his victims to endure his trial, despite refusing to attend himself.

After a brief trial the jury deliberated for less than an hour before finding Clifford guilty of rape. The evidence clearly proved that he planned the attack days in advance, purchasing a butcher’s knife and a crossbow while watching videos of misogynist “influencer” Andrew Tate.

During his sentencing hearing – which Clifford again refused to attend – new details about his past emerged, including that he made “inappropriately sexualised comments” at a previous job, and was forced to leave the Army after being found “wholly unsuited” to military service.

The court also heard that he had repeatedly discussed his purchases of weapons with his brother Bradley, who asked him if he was “going on a rampage”. Bradley has been in prison for murder since 2018 after deliberately driving his car into Sobhan Khan and Jahshua Francis, following an argument about his girlfriend. After ramming the teens he got out of the car and attacked Khan as he lay dying, threatening “you’ll be next” to a witness who tried to intervene.

Sentencing Kyle Clifford today, Mr Justice Bennathan described him as a “jealous man soaked in self pity, who holds women in utter contempt”.

Victim impact statements were read by John and Amy Hunt, who aimed many of their remarks at “callous, cowardly and vindictive” Clifford – despite his refusal to face them.

John Hunt also used his statement to highlight the issue of domestic abuse, saying “I hope women around the world will take Louise’s bravery as a shining beacon for their lives. If you feel enough is enough, then it is.”
